Feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed? You're not alone. Chronic stress and anxiety are conditions that afflict more of us than ever before. Anxiety is the most prevalent mental health issue in Australia and many other countries. Over time, chronic stress and anxiety can wreak havoc on our minds and bodies, leaving us tense and at risk of chronic illness.

 

Fortunately, there is yoga. There's now a growing body of research to support practising yoga poses, mindfulness, and breathing slowly (as you do in yoga class) are the most effective tools to regulate the stress response and rebalance the nervous system. 

 

This simple, easeful Yoga For Stress and Anxiety Workshop will take you on a journey to explore yoga as a powerful tool to find the breath, balance the nervous system, calm the mind and self regulate.

 

Expect science-based lectures, connecting with others moving through similar, learning about the nervous system, restorative yoga, mindful breathing techniques and aromatherapy. Take a deep, sweet breath and soften back in. All levels and experience welcome. Suitable for absolute beginners.

What's Included

 Gain a deeper understanding of the biological, social, and psychological aspects of anxiety and how yoga helps.

LECTURE

Guided relaxation to calm the mind, slow brain waves for sleep and invite a renewed sense of peace and wellbeing.

DEEP RELAXATION

We provide yoga mat and yoga props such as bolster, blocks, blankets and eye pillows to support your practice.

YOGA PROPS

Grounding restorative yoga to release stress, shift habits of holding tension and interrupt anxious thought patterns.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

A safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment to share your experience and connect with others. 

DEEP CONNECTION

To honour the nature of the workshop we limit groups to no more than 20 for a bespoke, yet connective, experience.

BESPOKE EXPERIENCE

Explore simple and easeful breathing techniques to alleviate anxiety to calm the mind and nervous system.

BREATHING TECHNIQUES

Sip on calming herbal teas and nibble on delicious plant-based treats while you learn and connect.

Emma Ceolin

Emma Ceolin is an experienced international yoga teacher (ERYT®500, RPYT®, RCYT®, YACEP®, RYS®200) based at Gold Coast, Australia. She's also the founder of Yogaventures, Mndfl Mats, and The Anxiety Effect. Emma first found yoga as a therapy for her own anxiety and depression and it changed her life forever. Seven years on, she is now a trauma-sensitive yoga teacher specialising in sharing yoga for mental health, healing and therapeutic benefits. Emma has extensive experience leading an array of sold-out workshops, retreats and teacher trainings across Australia, Asia, Europe, and the United States. She is best known for being one of the first yoga for anxiety teachers and has now taught hundreds of successful Yoga for Anxiety Workshops worldwide. Expect a gentle, inward and heart-centred practice with an emphasis on breath awareness and mindful movement to soften back in.

I can honestly say that yesterday after this workshop was the most relaxed I have been in eight years. I didn’t realise that with a great instructor, a mat and some extra equipment that I would be leaving the room with a strong epiphany. I love the process we did of talking, listening and understanding stress/anxiety before getting into the practice- because it is crucial to understand what is happening in your body before you try and change anything. I loved learning about aromatherapy and swatching the different senses. I took away so much yesterday and it’s given me another push to keep moving forward.
